We made it out to the “First to Play” event at the EMP|SFM in Seattle on Friday. In addition to having a chance to be the very first to play “Nowhere” an unreleased multiplayer map from the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection that launches July 28 there was also a panel with Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps and GoW2 writer Joshua Ortega moderated by Major Nelson.

The “Nowhere” map looked really cool, it was a desert-y setting and the panel with Michael Capps and Joshua Ortega was a lot of fun. Highlights of the panel included confirmation that Epic is working with New Line and Legendary Pictures on a Gears of War movie, a first look at some of the GoW2 t-shirt designs, some info about the GoW comic including a look at the cover of the upcoming issue #9 cover done by Jim Lee and an audience taste test of the new GoW energy drink
