Magic: The Gathering has been the 900 pound gorilla of trading card games since its release in 1993. Designed by Richard Garfield it was, and continues to be, the engine that powers publisher Wizards of the Coast. Magic has waxed and waned in popularity over the years but wit the release of Duels of the Planeswalkers on XBox Live Arcade and Zendikar, the latest block of Magic cards, it is enjoying another surge.
This week we talk with two experts in the Magic field; Mark Rosewater, the Head Designer for Magic: The Gathering, and Dan Tharp from Card Kingdom, a major online retailer of Magic cards.
We also get a quick preview of what to look for at Spokane ComiCon from organizer Nathan O’Brien, plus the weekly geek news and Seattle area geek events.
